The High School Research Internship is a selective program where students contribute to real research projects alongside ÖzÜ academics in university laboratories. It introduces final-year high school students interested in academia to university research culture.
Each intern takes an active role in a current research project led by an ÖzÜ academic. Students choose from more than 30 research areas in engineering, natural sciences, social sciences and health, then collect and analyze data before preparing a short research presentation.
HSRI is highly selective. Applications are assessed on academic achievement, a motivation letter and previous project experience. The program is free and includes lunch support.
Introduction to the research field, literature review and ethics training.
Laboratory sessions, experiments or fieldwork.
Processing collected data with academic mentorship.
Writing a short research report and preparing a poster or oral presentation.
